Being a single mom means being one of the busiest people on the planet! Many times, finding a way to relax for a single mom can be very difficult since the mom seems to be running from one place to another at all times.

Many times, finding a way to relax for a single mom can be very difficult since the mom seems to be running from one place to another at all times. Single moms must take care of everything in their household all alone with no help at all. Now is great time for every single mother to learn how to utilize their time and learn different methods of how to cope with as well as eliminate stress from their lives. By doing that, they can then enjoy some very much need relaxation.

Planning is very essential when it comes to being a single mom, since there are only so many hours during the day. Each month you should take the time to sit down and write your entire schedule and list of events on a calendar or a monthly planner. Make sure to not over schedule yourself and allow extra time for unforeseen things. Leave some time for some wiggle room since you never know exactly what your children are going to be doing or needing for the month. Look through your schedule and make sure to include time for just yourself. Try to include some time for exercise since it is a proven way to relieve some stress.

Single moms tend to have one of the most jam packed schedules in the world! Try your best to grab minutes to yourself when and where you can find them. Look for “downtime” moments throughout the day so you can close your eyes and collect your thoughts. This is a great way to recharge your batteries as well as relax for a couple of moments. The smallest amount of downtime can really make a difference in a single moms energy levels and even their attitude.

It never hurts to ask for some help! Many times single moms seem hesitant to ask for help with their children, but it can be very crucial to their health mentally, physically and emotionally. Try asking a relative to help or trade some childcare time with another mom who I am sure would be glad to help. Use the free time to sit and read, enjoy a good movie or just good old “you” time.

Do your best to simplify your life. Keeping everything as simple as possible is the best way to go. Use the weekends to prepare meals and other things for the week ahead. Give your child a couple of age appropriate chores to do. That is a great way to help prepare your children to care for their own home and you may even consider teaching them how to cook a few different things if old enough. Gaining an extra set of hands to help get things done, has never hurt!
